Josh Wells
20 years of experience competing and coaching in the sport of Olympic weightlifting
Josh has been a Starting Strength Coach since January 2010 and has trained under the watchful eyes of Mark Rippetoe since 2000. As an international level lifter, he was a member of the Jr. Pan-American Team and a member of the Junior World Team competing all over the world. He traveled throughout the US as seminar staff beginning in 2007 prior to the blue book and staffed various SS seminars years after. Josh received his Bachelor’s in Sociology and Master’s of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology from Midwestern State University. He has worked with many athletes from a variety of sports in conjunction with strength and conditioning programs at Texas Christian University and MSU. He was a primary coach, along with Mark Rippetoe, of the Midwestern State University and Bone Unit Olympic weightlifting teams operating under the Texas Weightlifting Regional Development Center. He has coached SS all over the US for the last 10 years and has hosted numerous SS and Olympic
Weightlifting camps. Josh is thrilled to relocate back to his home state of Texas with his wife (fellow SSC) Shelley and their two dogs Mabel and Loki to help bring the first Starting Strength Franchise to Houston.
Shelley Hancock

Shelley has applied SS to various populations in NYC at a Center for Preventative Medicine, ran a SS program in North Carolina for the last 5 years and has coached many SS and Olympic Weightlifting camps all over the East Coast. She has a
Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training and Master’s of Science in Exercise Physiology from Midwestern State University. Her thesis on deadlift starting positions can be found in the International Journal of Exercise Science. Prior to being an SSC, Shelley was a collegiate Athletic Trainer and a former Ballerina for 20 years. Shelley is excited about relocating back to her home state of Texas with her husband (fellow SSC) Josh and their two dogs Loki and Mabel.

Chase Lindley
Chase Lindley has trained at Wichita Falls Athletic Club since the age of 12. He has been coached under the man himself, Mark Rippetoe, and SSC Nick Delgadillo. The SS community knows him well from multiple videos with Rip and podcasts on Barbell Logic. He has coached the barbell lifts for 3 years and has recently attained his Starting Strength Coaching credential. Chase was a former Division 3 collegiate football player at Howard Payne University. He is a native Wichitan and is excited to start a new adventure in Houston with his former coaches Josh and Shelly Wells.
